Kathmandu, July 31 -- In a major boost to Nepalese cricket, the country has been confirmed as the host nation for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, paving the way for an electrifying start to 2026.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday that Nepal will stage the high-stakes qualifier tournament, scheduled to run from January 12 to February 2 next year.

A total of ten teams will vie for a coveted spot in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in England and Wales. The participating sides will be split into two groups of five, with the top three from each pool progressing to the Super Six stage.
