Money laundering department files seven cases, seeks Rs 118 billion
Nepal, July 24 -- The Department of Money Laundering Investigation filed seven prosecution cases in the fiscal year 2025 to 26, seeking around Rs 118.05 billion in damages.
According to details released by the department on Thursday, a total of 121 individuals have been named as defendants in the cases.
The department said all reports related to money laundering and terrorist financing are first reviewed by a screening committee. If preliminary investigation is deemed necessary, an investigating officer is assigned and the legal process begins.
