Nepal, March 8 -- Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized the need to ensure meaningful and quality participation of women while strengthening gender equality, democratic values, and social justice.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, she noted that many women are still deprived of quality education, basic healthcare, dignified employment, and representation in leadership positions. "The mindset of questioning women's capability still lingers. Yesterday's discrimination at home now appears in workplaces," she said. She stressed that the goal should not be limited to increasing participation but ensuring substantive and quality engagement.
