Nepal, May 13 -- The Tokha Municipality in Kathmandu district has taken action against 46 businesses during a market monitoring campaign to protect consumer rights and improve market management.

According to the municipality, surprise inspections were carried out across 11 wards over several days starting May 8.

The monitoring team comprised representatives from the Municipality, the Metropolitan Police Force, the Central Veterinary Disease Investigation Laboratory, the Veterinary Standards and Drug Regulatory Laboratory, the Livestock Service Office, the Tokha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Consumer Rights Protection Forum.
