Large quantity of illegal drugs seized during customs duty evasion check in Bara
Nepal, June 23 -- A large quantity of restricted drugs has been recovered from a truck that was initially detained on suspicion of customs duty evasion in Bara.
According to authorities, the Parsa Police had intercepted a freight truck (Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 3346) traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu on suspicion of carrying smuggled goods and handed it over to the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathlaiya.
During a detailed inspection of the vehicle, officials discovered 12,000 strips of the controlled pharmaceutical drug Tramadol, said Pramod Prasad, information officer at the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathlaiya.
