KATHMANDU, Aug. 2 -- The entire country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, with the monsoon trough positioned slightly north of its average location, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected nationwide. There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in many places in the hilly regions, as well as in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and some parts of the Terai region. The MFD has also indicated the possibility of heavy rain in one or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
