Nepal, July 30 -- The International Day of Friendship is being marked today in various countries of the world by organizing different events.

The theme of the International Day of Friendship 2026 is "Embracing Diversity, Fostering Unity," highlighting how human connection bridges cultural divides.

The Day is marked every year on July 30 after the UN General Assembly proclaimed the Day in 2011 with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.
