Nepal, July 22 -- Continuous rainfall has disrupted traffic on several major highways across Nepal, with landslides and flooding blocking key road sections in multiple districts.

According to Nepal Police, as of 7:00 am Wednesday, highways in Sindhupalchok, Ilam, Baglung, Panchthar and Gorkha remain completely blocked. Nighttime vehicle movement has also been suspended on some roads as a safety measure.

Authorities have imposed a nightly traffic restriction on the BP Highway's Khurkot, Nepalthok, Katunjebesi section in Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli because of the risk of flooding. All vehicles are prohibited from operating between 6:00 pm and 4:00 am until further notice, while traffic is allowed from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm.
