Nepal, March 18 -- Consumers in Taplejung are facing higher prices for cooking gas, as a half-filled LPG cylinder is now being sold for Rs 1,300 due to rising transportation costs.

According to Taplejung Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Bikash Gautam, a meeting of gas cylinder distributors on Wednesday decided to fix the price of a 7.1 kg (half-filled) LPG cylinder at Rs 1,300.

Previously, a fully filled 14.2 kg cylinder was being sold in Phungling at Rs 2,200. With the new pricing, consumers will now pay Rs 1,300 for half the quantity.
