Nepal, Sept. 16 -- In response to the country's challenging fiscal situation, the government has decided to cut meeting allowances for civil servants and reduce staff positions by up to 20%. The decision was taken at a secretary-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal.

According to sources, all national-level workshops, seminars, trainings and interaction programs will now be held in government venues to promote cost efficiency. Projects that have not created financial obligations in the current Fiscal Year (FY) will be suspended, with allocated funds redirected toward repairing damaged structures, purchasing machinery and maintaining essential equipment.
