Nepal, April 20 -- In a move aimed at easing cash flow for public employees, the government has decided to pay civil servants every 15 days, scrapping the long-standing monthly salary system.
The decision was taken by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) at the ministerial level last Friday, with an official circular already issued to the Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO) to begin implementation.
According to the circular signed by Joint Secretary Dr Suman Dahal of the MoF's Budget and Program Division, the practice of disbursing salaries only after the completion of a full month will be replaced with a semi-monthly payment system. Authorities have been instructed to make the necessary technical and administrative arrangements.
