Nepal, Oct. 9 -- The government has significantly reduced the number of security personnel assigned to two former prime ministers.

Citing that they had been provided with security beyond the official standard, the Ministry of Home Affairs decided to withdraw a total of 61 security personnel of former prime minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and former prime minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

According to ministry sources, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal made the decision at the ministerial level, recalling 27 security personnel from Oli's security team and 34 from Dahal's.
