Nepal, Aug. 9 -- Financial offense cases have increased sharply, with Nepal Police registering 12,950 incidents in Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.

According to the Police Headquarters, financial transaction disputes accounted for the largest share of offenses. With the growing reliance on banks and financial institutions, cases related to checks, loans, payments, and other financial services have risen significantly.

Banking offenses typically involve issuing checks from accounts with insufficient funds, defaulting on loans, using falsified documents to secure facilities, and exploiting loopholes in the banking system.
