DoMLI files seven cases seeking recovery of Rs 118.05 billion in one year
Nepal, July 25 -- The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DoMLI) prosecuted cases seeking to recover a total of Rs 118.05 billion in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.
According to its annual report, the DoMLI sought to recover the amount out of the seven cases that it prosecuted in the last FY. The DoMLI had recommended cases against 121 defendants.
After receiving information regarding money laundering and terrorist financing, the DoMLI takes the issues to its screening committee for discussion. If the committee deems a preliminary investigation necessary, an investigation officer is appointed and the legal process is taken forward.
