Nepal, June 29 -- The movement of public cargo vehicles through the Miteri Bridge at Rasuwagadhi, Nepal's northern border point, has been halted for two days.

The suspension follows the installation of a Bailey bridge as an alternative after the concrete bridge was swept away by the Lhende Khola flood on July 8 last year.

Chief District Officer of Rasuwa Rajesh Panthi said vehicle movement has been halted on Monday and Tuesday for a technical test to determine whether the Bailey bridge can support vehicles during the upcoming monsoon season.

However, local residents and passengers traveling to Mansarovar Kailash will not face any inconvenience, CDO Panthi clarified.
