Nepal, March 6 -- Birendra Bahadur Basnet, a central committee member of the Gatisheel Loktantrik Party, has announced his resignation from the party.

Announcing the decision through social media on Friday, Basnet said he would now serve the country as an independent and responsible citizen through social service initiatives.
