Nepal, Sept. 14 -- Attorney General Ramesh Badal has resigned from his post.

Badal submitted his resignation to President Ramchandra Paudel. It is customary for attorneys general appointed on the recommendation of the prime minister after each new government formation to step down once a new prime minister assumes office.

Newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki has yet to recommend a successor.
