Nepal, April 21 -- The Bharatpur-based Distribution Center of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has blacklisted 277 power consumers for their failure to pay the tariff on time.
They were blacklisted for not paying a tariff amounting to Rs 10.4 million, according to the Information Officer at the center, Nanda Ram Bista.
The authorities took action after consumers did not pay heed to clear outstanding dues. The number of nonpayers is for the last year. As many as 1,826 households faced power cuts as an action for avoiding duty. The power cut was enforced in the households that failed to pay the tariff for six months in a row.
