Nepal, March 3 -- Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) surged 38.52 points on Tuesday, the last trading day before the elections of the House of Representatives (HoR), to close at 2,712.49 points.

The secondary market opened at 2,674.20 points and plunged to the day's low at 2,667.28 points in the first nine minutes. The market however escalated almost over the remaining trading hours of around four hours. Overall, the market observed a growth of 1.44 percent.

Except for the trading group that shedded 32.43 points, the remaining 12 sectors were the gainers. As manufacturing and processing added the largest of 137.81 points, life insurance, non-life insurance, and hotels and tourism were recorded as gainers of three-digit points.
