Nigeria, Nov. 4 -- US Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday that the reason his Republican Party performed woefully in Tuesday's midterm elections was because of the Iran war.

Mr Vance, in a post on X, said, "The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night."

The US and Israel's war with Iran has led to higher petrol and diesel prices as well as a high cost of living in the US and across the world.

PREMIUM TIMES reports that the Democratic Party won in most of the elections held on Tuesday and took control of both chambers of Congress.
