Nigeria, Oct. 11 -- The police have arrested a 29-year-old man who allegedly contracted kidnappers to abduct and kill a large-scale farmer in Zawudna village, Munya Local Government Area, and took over the deceased's farmland.

The police said Godwin Yahaya was arrested following allegations by rescued kidnapping victims that he conspired with kidnappers to abduct the farmer, Jonah Isah, and others for ransom.

In a crime bulletin issued on Saturday, October 10, Police Public Relations Officer Wasiu Abiodun said operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) attached to the Kuchi area arrested Mr Yahaya on 27 September and handed him over to the Sarkin-Pawa Police Division for investigation.
