Nigeria, Sept. 19 -- The Police Command in Lagos State has restored peace and normalcy to Tejuosho Market Phase II, Surulere, after hoodlums and miscreants unleashed violence under the guise of protesting power outage.

The deputy spokesperson for the command, Babaseyi Oluseyi, a deputy suprintendent of police, confirmed this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

He said that the incident occurred on Thursday at about 2:30 p.m., when the command received a distress call that hoodlums had launched attacks on traders, damaging property, and targeting security personnel at the market.
