Nigeria, Aug. 17 -- A Nigerian national, Okechukwu Augustine, has been remanded by the Circuit Court in Ghana over his alleged involvement in a foiled bank robbery plot.

Mr Augustine was remanded on Monday and is expected to reappear before the court on Wednesday.

PREMIUM TIMES reports that Mr Augustine was arrested last Thursday after the Ghanaian police allegedly foiled a plot to rob three banks, GCB Bank, Ecobank and Zenith Bank.

The Ghana Police Service (GPS), in a statement shared on X, said that the plot targeted the three bank branches in the Labone area of Accra.
