Nigeria, Oct. 31 -- The new Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has redeployed senior army officers in a move the army said was "aimed at reinvigorating leadership, strengthening command structures and repositioning the Nigerian Army (NA) for heightened operational effectiveness."
Mr Shaibu, a lieutenant general, was decorated with his new rank on Thursday by President Bola Tinubu after the former was confirmed by the National Assembly.
Army spokesperson Appolonia Aneke announced the deployments in a Thursday statement.
