Nigeria, Sept. 17 -- The mutilated corpse of a woman has been found near a stream inside the Wildlife Park Forest Reserve in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The discovery was made on Thursday morning.

Security sources said the body was found with suspected machete cuts on her face and arm.

The discovery was reported to security operatives at about 9:30 a.m., prompting their deployment to the forest reserve.

A staff member of the park, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment on the incident, said workers alerted security operatives after discovering the body.
