Nigeria, Sept. 20 -- Dara: A Port Harcourt Love Story? wants to be a campus romance, crime drama, social commentary and coming-of-age story at once, but its crowded narrative leaves its central love story struggling for emotional space.

Directed by Bobby Rak and written by Miracle Abia, the 2025 drama follows Dara (Emmanuel Bless Smile Edi), a young dancer and social media personality whose university experience takes a dangerous turn when romance, peer pressure, and cultism collide.

While its strong Port Harcourt identity and committed performances give the film character, its crowded narrative often comes at the expense of emotional depth and a convincing romance.
