Nigeria, Aug. 3 -- After weeks of speculation, the Kano Central District senator, Rufa'i Hanga, has resigned from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The lawmaker resigned from the NDC in a letter to the party's Dakata Ward chairman, dated 3 August.

In the letter, Mr Hanga expressed gratitude to the ward executive committee and party members for their fellowship and shared experiences during his time in the party, noting that his decision to withdraw was made after careful personal reflection to pursue other commitments and career paths.
