Kano Assembly passes bill regulating private school fees
Nigeria, Aug. 3 -- The Kano State House of Assembly on Monday passed a law to regulate the fees charged by private schools in the state.
The legislation, titled the Kano State Private and Voluntary Institutions Board (Amendment) Bill, 2026, introduces measures designed to strengthen regulatory oversight of private schools and protect parents against arbitrary fee hikes.
The bill was passed following its third reading by the Clerk of the House, Bashir Diso, and its subsequent consideration by the Committee of the Whole during plenary.
