Nigeria, April 2 -- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended recognition of all leadership factions of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following a Court of Appeal ruling and ongoing litigation over the party's leadership.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Mohammed Haruna, on Wednesday, INEC said it would maintain the status quo as it existed before the suit was filed on 2 September 2025, pending the determination of the case before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The commission said the decision complies with the Court of Appeal's directive that both parties maintain the status quo pending the determination of a substantive suit currently before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
