Nigeria, Sept. 21 -- The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) says its Chairman, Abdullahi Usman, Secretary, Mustapha Ali, and commissioners will depart for Saudi Arabia on Monday as part of the preparations for the 2026 Hajj.

The commission's spokesperson, Fatima Usara, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

She said the trip aligns with the operational calendar issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU), which mandates early contracting and payment for Mashair (camps) between 6 and 23 September 2025.

MoHU further set 23-24 September as the deadline for contracting essential services such as transportation and accommodation.
