Nigeria, Dec. 18 -- The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has debunked reports alleging that it sought approval to roll over contracts awarded to 2025 Hajj service providers for the 2026 Hajj operations.
It described the reports as false, misleading, and a misrepresentation of its procurement decisions.
In a statement by Ahmad Muazu, Technical Assistant (Media) to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Abdullahi Usman, on Thursday, the commission explained that its decision not to conduct a fresh bidding process for certain 2026 Hajj services was driven solely by the emergency nature of Hajj operations, strict timelines imposed by Saudi authorities, and provisions within the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) gui...
