Nigeria, April 25 -- A traditional ruler, his wife, son and two other residents have been killed in Olegabulu community of Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, in the latest wave of violence in the state.

Daily Trust reported that the attack occurred on Thursday night when gunmen riding on two motorcycles stormed the palace and opened fire on the occupants.

Residents said the attackers moved through the community without raising suspicion* before heading straight to the residence of the traditional ruler.

A local resident, who asked not to be named for security reasons, said the gunmen appeared familiar with the area.
