Nigeria, Nov. 1 -- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has responded to allegations of extortion made against it by rapper Oladipupo "Oladips" Oladimeji.

In a recent interview with Hip TV, the artiste claimed that the anti-graft agency detained him for five days and extorted millions of naira from him before granting his release.

Oladips stated that he was never informed of the reason for his arrest or detention, adding that he chose not to pursue legal action against the EFCC due to what he described as the "corrupt nature of the judiciary."

Responding to the 30-year-old's allegations, the EFCC, in a statement posted on its X page on Saturday, said it viewed the claims of extortion with utmost seriousness.
