Dolly Parton dies at 80
Nigeria, Aug. 26 -- American country music legend Dolly Parton, whose six-decade career produced global hits, including Jolene, 9 to 5, and I Will Always Love You, has died at the age of 80.
Parton's family announced her death on Tuesday, describing the singer-songwriter as an inspiration to generations of musicians and artists.
"Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus," her nephew said in a video shared on social media.
Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, said Parton "opened doors for generations of singers, songwriters, musicians, and dreamers from every walk of life", adding that her example showed that "anything was possible".
The family did not disclose the cause of death.
