Nigeria, Aug. 12 -- Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are officially married, almost 10 years after the football star and model began their relationship.

The couple exchanged vows in a civil ceremony on 11 August in Cascais, near Lisbon, Portuguese media reported. The ceremony was attended by the five children they are raising together.

Ronaldo broke the news on Instagram, posting a close-up photograph of two hands wearing wedding bands. The post attracted more than three million likes within its first 30 minutes.

The wedding took place exactly a year after Rodriguez announced that Ronaldo had proposed to her.
