Nigeria, Nov. 14 -- The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday issued a final order stopping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from proceeding with its 2025 national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The convention, scheduled to hold Saturday and Sunday (15 and 16 November) is intended to elect national officers for the party.
The judge, Peter Lifu, gave the order while delivering judgement in a suit filed by former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido, who had asked the court to bar the PDP to be put on hold until it complies with its constitution and guidelines.
Mr Lamido said he was denied the opportunity to buy a chairmanship nomination form to enable him to participate in the convention.
