Nigeria, Sept. 4 -- The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has confirmed that suspects arrested in connection with the alleged plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu's administration have been taken to court and are currently facing trial.

Mr Musa, a retired army general, revealed this on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today, while giving an update on the investigation into the alleged coup plot uncovered in 2025.

He stated the plot was authentic and that investigators had confirmed the suspects' intention to seize power.

"The coup was genuine, and they truly intended to carry it out," Mr Musa said.
