Nigeria, Aug. 12 -- President Bola Tinubu on Monday made and reversed a major appointment within hours, reappointing Muheeba Dankaka as chairperson of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) at 6:35 p.m., only to replace her with former lawmaker Ayo Hulayat Omidiran by 10:44 p.m.

The unprecedented flip-flop has caused widespread confusion, with some stakeholders, including the Emir of Ilorin, issuing statements congratulating Ms. Dankaka on her "reappointment" even after Mr Tinubu had withdrawn it.
