Nigeria, April 8 -- Zainab stood at the bus stop, shifting from one foot to the other as more students gathered behind her. It was only a few days of the resumption semester at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), but her routine had already changed.

What used to be a single bus ride from campus to her hostel in Mayfair has now become a two-step journey, first, waiting in long queues to board a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus to the campus gate, then joining another line to get a 'Town-gboro' bus (public vehicles that commute students within campus and town) into town.
