Nigeria, April 26 -- A fire outbreak on Saturday evening razed a bungalow building located within the environmental axis of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) estate in Lugbe, along Airport Road, Abuja.

The incident, which began around 7:30 p.m., completely destroyed the property.

Residents said the building went up in flames shortly after electricity was restored to the area.

"The occupants of the building are not around. The fire started after they brought light. Everything has burnt down," a resident told PREMIUM TIMES at the scene.

Fire service officials were said to have responded after being alerted. However, some residents criticised the pace of the response.
