Nigeria, Oct. 7 -- A mutilated human body has been found behind the Monday Market in Pankshin, Plateau State, on Tuesday, leaving residents of the community shocked.

The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death were unknown as of Tuesday evening.

Residents told journalists that the corpse was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday behind the market.

Johnson Dawul, a resident, said some parts of the deceased's body, including his genitals, had been removed.

"We woke up this morning to see the corpse lying behind the Monday Market. It was a shocking sight," Mr Dawul said.

Another resident, who confirmed the discovery, said nobody in the area could immediately identify the deceased or explain how he died. ...
