Nigeria, Oct. 8 -- The Nigerian Army has taken over the stretch of the Old Oyo National Park in Oyo State for military training, months after more than 46 pupils and teachers were abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

The move is aimed at denying kidnappers and other criminal groups access to the vast forest, which the military identified as one of the areas targeted during efforts to rescue the victims.
