Nigeria, Sept. 28 -- The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 17 local government chairmanship seats in the Saturday's council election in Enugu State.

The Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Christian Ngwu, announced the results of the exercise at the commission's headquarters in Enugu on Sunday.

Mr Ngwu, a professor, also announced that the APC candidates equally won all the 260 councillorship seats in the state.

According to the results announced by Mr Ngwu, Ugochukwu Nwanjoku won in Aninri LGA while Uchenna Okolo emerged winner for Awgu LGA and Beloved-Dan Anike clinched victory for Enugu East LGA.
