Nigeria, April 24 -- Nigeria's ruling All Progressives Congress has fixed the cost of its 2027 presidential nomination form at N100 million.

The figure is nearly twice the total legitimate salary a president earns over four years. It is also more than 1,000 times Nigeria's N77,000 monthly minimum wage.

The announcement has prompted sharp questions from many Nigerians. How does a party ask people to apply for a job with a fee higher than the salary the job pays? Does such a structure invite corruption and illegal income to bridge the gap?
