Nigeria, Sept. 24 -- The Anambra State Government has rejected the 2025 PCL State Performance Index report, which rated Anambra State as one of Nigeria's "underperforming" states and one of the worst states to live in after it dropped from 8th position in 2024 to 34th.
The government said the report is "deeply flawed and misleading."
Chiamaka Nnake, Anambra's commissioner for budget and planning, released a statement Friday in Awka, accusing Philips Consulting Limited (PCL) of applying an "unscientific and biased methodology" in the report.
Mrs Nnake criticised the report's reliance on a sample size of only 78 respondents, arguing that such a figure was invalid for a state with a population exceeding six million residents.
