Nigeria, Oct. 13 -- President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the reimbursement of N100.5 billion to Yobe State Government for the construction of the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport in Damaturu, the state capital.

Mr Tinubu's request was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary on Tuesday.

In the letter, the president said the federal government had taken over the ownership and control of the airport, necessitating the reimbursement to the state government through a promissory note.
