Nigeria, Feb. 27 -- At least 25 people were killed on Tuesday in coordinated attacks across Adamawa State, including 21 in a market, in what security officials describe as one of the deadliest incidents in the state this year.

Gunmen riding motorcycles stormed a market in Madagali Local Government Area, killing 21 civilians, according to local government officials and community leaders.

Witnesses said the attackers opened fire before looting food supplies and seizing transport vehicles.

Hours later, in neighbouring Hong LGA, an ambush left three Nigerian soldiers and one civilian dead, according to a senior military officer who was not authorised to speak on the incident publicly.
