Nigeria, Oct. 16 -- The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to "promptly" restore omitted names of NDC candidates in the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections.

Mr Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, appealed in a post on his Facebook page on Thursday night.

"We urge INEC to remedy this apparent omission promptly," he appealed.

PREMIUM TIMES reports that the NDC governorship candidates in Kano, Kaduna and Cross River States were omitted from the final list of candidates for the 2027 election recently published by INEC on Saturday.

The NDC leadership had attributed the omission to an error.
