Nigeria, March 1 -- At least 201 people have been killed in US and Israeli strikes on Iran, Iran's Red Crescent Society has said.
The Red Crescent, a health organisation similar to the Red Cross, disclosed this in an interview with Mehr news agency, Al Jazeera reports.
"A spokesperson for Iran's Red Crescent Society has told Mehr news agency that US and Israeli attacks have hit 24 of Iran's provinces, killing at least 201 people and wounding 747 people," Al Jazeera reports. "The spokesperson said that more than 220 Red Crescent teams are present at the targeted sites, and rescue operations continue."
PREMIUM TIMES reports that the victims include over 40 schoolgirls killed in a strike on a girls' elementary school in Iran.
