Nigeria, Nov. 6 -- The Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Professor Chris Piwuna, has acknowledged maintenance challenges at the university's Village Hostel, which accommodates students with disabilities, following a PREMIUM TIMES investigation into the inaccessible and deteriorating facilities.

Mr Piwuna, who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES after reading the investigation, admitted that the hostel required further improvements but said the university had made several interventions to improve conditions for students with disabilities.

"Hostel maintenance is a huge problem, and I can only say to you we will keep trying our best," he said in a subsequent message to the reporter.
